Introduction

We’ve seen SandForce-based solid state drives become very popular over the last couple of years. Prices have continued to drop and consumers are taking notice of the impressive overall system boost that SSDs can offer. Today we will be taking a close look at the brand new enthusiast drive offering from SanDisk, the SanDisk Extreme 120GB SATA III drive. This drive has a new firmware, and SanDisk’s own 24 nm toggle NAND. This is the first time a SandForce based drive has been offered with this particular configuration.┬áSo, we get to see if it is faster with the new firmware and NAND configuration.
