We’ll be using ATTO and Crystal Disk Mark for testing today, to showcase the typical performance of each Samsung Micro SD card.
First up, let’s start with the enthusiast-oriented EVO+ model:
Here we see that the Read results top out around 95MB/s, which is faster than Samsung’s claimed speeds, while the Write speeds hover just above 25MB/s. That’s very reasonable, and certainly good enough for photo storage and movie playback.
Next up, the professional-oriented PRO+ model:
WOW, that’s a shot in the arm for a speed boost, as the Samsung PRO+ zips along at a blistering 95MB/s Read and 85MB/s Write. That’s faster than Samsung’s claims, and suffice it say this will provide more than enough speed for any professional photographer or videographer.
Crystal Disk Mark
Next, let’s look at the Crystal Disk Mark results.
First the EVO+ 64GB:
Much of the same here. Very good read speeds, and adequate Write speeds. However, this is certainly sufficient for most consumer-level photo and video storage and playback needs.
And the Samsung PRO+ 32GB:
Again we see very impressive results on the PRO+ , nearly identical to the ATTO numbers. Clearly, the PRO+ is in a class of its own, definitely suitable for any professional storage needs.
