Introduction

A computer mouse is such a personal thing. With so many choices on the market, how to know if a particular mouse will fit your needs? Big mice, small mice, wide mice, tall mice. Sounds like something straight out of a Dr.Seuss book. How to tell the differences and how to make the decision to fit your tastes? Well, today we’re going to test drive the ROCCAT Savu, and give you some straight answers to help you find out if it’s suitable for you.

Not long ago we looked at the ROCCAT Kone[+] not long ago, and came away impressed, noting the extensive features and innovations that made it a top notch premium gaming mouse. However, not everyone has the generous budget to afford such a flagship peripheral, and for those with slightly more modest tastes and expenses, the Savu might be just the thing.

The Savu looks to continue the innovative features such as EasyShift[+] that we’ve previously seen, and if the past is any indication, then we expect big things from ROCCAT here with the Savu. And while ROCCAT may not be quite as well known in North America as some established industry heavyweights, they’ve made quite a splash in Europe, and seem to be looking to expand on this side of the pond, complete with a healthy pedigree to back up their gaming lineup.

With a price tag of about $70, can the ROCCAT Savu stack up well in a competitive market? Let’s take a closer look and find out.
