Raijintek Orcus 240 CPU Cooler Review

Posted March 28, 2018 by Josh Jackson in Cooling

Price at time of Review: $104.99 on Newegg

Great Cooling Performance, Awesome RGB lighting, Truly Innovative Design, Easy Install Process

No addressable RGB LED function (More than one color at the same time)
Sometimes looks are more important than performance, but Raijintek doesn't force you to make that trade. The Orcus 240 is competitively priced and should be a top consideration for an RGB CPU Cooler.

Packaging and Accessories

A box is a box, is a box, is a box. It looks nice. Alright, I’m done bemoaning my requirements to talk about product packaging, but there is something I want to point out that I don’t like here.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this and I’m sure it won’t be the last, but I don’t like the way the lighting is represented on the back panel here. At first glance, a buyer might assume that they can have some kind of rainbow effect with their lighting. The technical term is “individually addressable LEDs” and the Orcus 240 does NOT have that feature. So while it can display a plethora of colors, it will only do one of those colors at a time. It can do a color cycle pattern, but still one at a time. Maybe if the colors were separated in pie-like sections to make it a little more clear, it would help. Now that I’ve gotten my rant out of the way though, I do like how the pieces are packaged inside. There’s room to protect from impact, but everything is easy to access as well.
