We’ve seen a recent rise in popularity of multiple GPUs, hexa core CPUs, and more power hungry system components. While manufacturers are working on power efficiency for their products, the general trend has been higher energy consumption. However, we’ve seen a real interest in the consumer marketplace for power supplies that achieve high efficiency levels, which can lower energy bills in money-conscious times such as these. But the need to power these systems in a stable environment is greater than ever, and the units required to keep our computer systems safe is critical.
Today we’re looking at a beast of a power supply from Raidmax. It’s the RX-1200AE, not a very catchy name, but it looks pretty sleek, comes with a modular design, and is 80PLUS Bronze certified. Perhaps most significantly, however, it comes with a very attractive price tag of only $160. That puts it as one of the most affordable 1200W units on the market.
We’re suckers for a great as much as anyone, but a power supply isn’t the place to skimp when looking to invest in hardware components. Can the Raidmax RX1200-AE perform well enough to get our recommendation? Let’s find out.
