The Radeon 5550 is a budget graphics card for consumers who may be looking for something in their HTPC setup or perhaps do some very light gaming. This particular PowerColor 5550 (there is more than one variant available) operates at a core frequency of 550MHz and memory speed of 800MHz, delivering 25.6 GB/sec of memory bandwidth with 512MB of DDR3 memory.

Onboard hardware UVD (Unified Video decoder) considerably reduces CPU load and aids in delivering smooth decoding of high definition content, able to simultaneously to decode two 1080p HD video streams and display HD video with Windows Aero mode enabled. HDMI capability has also been upgraded to HDMI 1.3a with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio support.
