Package and Accessories

Starting with the package and accessories, the PowerColor 7870 Myst Edition comes in a boldly designed box that prominently displays the Myst Edition moniker, along with being Windows 8 UEFI Ready, and sporting 2GB of GDDR5, a Boost State, and a few other tidbits of information.

The rear of the box continues more information about some of the features and specifications, while also providing some detail about the custom cooler, digital PWM IC design, DirectFET and Ferrite Core Chokes for improved longevity and durability.

Inside the box, PowerColor has included a minimal accessory package, including a video output converter, Quick Installation Guide, and driver disk.

One interesting note is that we often don’t receive full (or final) retail samples. On occasion, some non-critical items may be missing which don’t affect performance testing or results. In this instance, it appears that this Myst Edition card qualifies for AMD’s “Never Settle Reloaded” promotion, which includes Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite coupons for free downloads of those two A+ games titles. However, we didn’t see the coupon card in the sample package, but we’ve been told that should not be a problem with the full retail packages for consumers.

That said, the “Never Settle Reloaded” promotion is an outstanding deal, considering that’s about $120 worth of free games included with this PowerColor package.
