The PC Power & Cooling MK III Silencer 750W is a power supply that delivers solid features and performance , while doing it in an utterly sleek and unique aesthetic. From a performance standpoint, it has excellent voltage regulation and ripple suppression, easily handling everything we tossed at it, even when mildly overloaded. With a single +12V rail and 62 Amps available here, this unit will handle any single-GPU setup, and even most two-card SLI/CrossFire setups as well.
In terms of functionality, this unit unfortunately isn’t entirely modular, but few power supplies are in this wattage range, so you’ll need to spend a wee bit of time on cable management to keep your case impressively clean to match the sexy looks of the MK III Silencer. However, we’ve found that the flat modular cable design does help reduce clutter as they’re easier to fold and tuck out of the way inside a case, when compared to traditionally sleeved cables. And lastly, with an 80 PLUS Gold rating, this unit is respectably efficient.
The only issues we could note is that the Silencer isn’t silent at full load. It is very quiet at low loads, but when the unit is pushed it is audible, though barely. The screw-in modular cable connectors are a bit more finicky than the typical click-in design as well, but we’re nitpicking, we admit.
With a retail price of $150 USD, the MK III Silencer 750W sits in the middle range against the competition. It’s a good value considering the modular design and strong performance, and the excellent 7-year warranty certainly adds to the overall appeal. The 80PLUS Gold certification is well matched for the price, and the white aesthetics on the exterior are rare, if you’re looking for something unique.
With a great combination of styling, functionality, performance, and value, the PC Power & Cooling MK III Silencer 750W is a solid power supply that’s worthy of a close look for anyone considering a new purchase.
