Today we’ve seen some very interesting things from these Patriot Vipers. From an aesthetic perspective, these modules are unique and striking, giving Nvidia fans something to pine for, promising a very sleek setup in your 790i setup. The bold green color may not be to everyone’s tastes, but I do think they are awfully sexy, particularly in an Nvidia rig that is watercooled and sporting some UV-reactive coolant……simply gorgeous.

From a performance perspective, these Vipers have bite, posting some excellent numbers across the board. Lowering timings to CL8 at 2000MHz is a bonus, though 2.0V are required to get there, so the low latency does come at a bit of a voltage cost here. Overclocking provided some extra smiles as well, giving an additional 5% jump above the rated speed. Proportionately speaking, it’s not very high, but that’s to be expected when running the memory near the red line right out of the gate to begin with.

Listing at a current price of approximately $165 USD after rebates, these Vipers are actually the cheapest modules we could find in this market segment for DDR3-2000 at 4GB capacity. At that price, there really isn’t anything to detract from these modules. Quite simply, these Patriot Vipers offer exceptional performance in a gorgeous design, and all at an excellent price; if you’re in the market for top-class DDR3 memory modules, then you really cannot do better than this.
