Here are the specifications of the DDR3 Vipers:

  • Equipped Patriot Viper Heat Shields with integrated ACC (Aluminum Copper Composite) technology

Here are the specfications:

  • Module Size: 4GB kit (2GB x 2)
  • Package: Viper 240-pin DIMM
  • PVS34G2000LLKN

  • Lifetime Warranty
  • RoHS Compliant
  • 2.0V

I would like you notice the 240-pin DIMM specification because this defines DDR3. You will definitely notice this because if you try putting DDR2 modules into your board it’s not going to fit even though the DIMM slots very similar. As each new wave of DIMM technology appears the little notch in the memory moves ever so slightly but keeps the dual-120 gold pins.

These Viper modules come packaged in a fairly standard, plastic-molded case and a cover which gives some general information about the memory such as speed, type, kit size and compatibility. The cover is actually just the front of the instruction manual. It’s not the prettiest or most detailed manual in the world but it gets the job done.

The cover shows you what the memory will look like on your motherboard which is nice. There is the Patriot logo and a graphic text telling you that this kit is a part of patriots Viper Series. On the back of the packaging you see the exposed modules.

Here we see the packaging of the Vipers:
