Introduction

The Intel P67 Sandy Bridge platform has produced quite a few changes from what we’ve seen on previous Intel platforms, from performance to overclocking. And a new socket always brings new memory kits to hit the market, and the 2nd Generation Intel Core family of processors is no exception.

Patriot is known for producing a wide range of memory products to suit just about any performance need or budget. So it really should come as no surprise their newest series, named Gamer 2, takes aim at both of these criteria simultaneously. Today we’re looking at an 8GB kit running at 1600MHz that’s geared toward the new Sandy Bridge platform.

These new modules sport an aggressive aesthetic and sleek black heatspreaders. The really interesting thing is this 8GB kit only costs $103, one of the least expensive on the market in this speed range. Larger capacity, attractive styling, and a great price……are these Patriot Gamer 2 modules the next big thing? Let’s find out.

Established in 1985, Patriot Memory builds a full range of memory module and flash memory products, offering a perfect blend of quality and value.
