Summary

The OWC Multi Mount is an interesting idea, or rather, solution for those whom wish to install an SSD into an older chassis that doesn’t have native support for the drive format. It is also a solution for cases with limited HDD space. This device utilizes the unused 5.25” or 3.5” drive bays of any chassis.

Being constructed of aircraft quality aluminum should prove to add some added durability as well as an overall high quality bracket that won’t add a substantial amount of weight to your system, other than that of the drives you’re adding.

The OWC Multi Mounts range in price from $18 USD to $50 USD depending on which kit you decide you want. This particular mount is the least expensive one, costing only $18. Now the question remains: is the Multi Mount worth the cost?  Well, the answer depends on what your current case has as limitations.  It’s certainly cheaper than buying a new case or going with new drive cages, particularly if you have a smaller or older case that really can’t be upgraded.  It isn’t for everyone, but in specific circumstances, the OWC Multi Mount can make sense and provide an affordable solution to a storage space dilemma.
