Introduction

Recently we’ve seen the SandForce-based solid state drives making waves in the high-performance storage arena with their killer performance numbers. Powered by the SandForce SF-1200 controller, a little juggernaut that packs a punch, these drives have made quite a positive impression on us.

As fast the these SSDs are, some people crave even faster. And so today we’re looking at another SandForce SSD, but this one is very special as it’s essentially two drives in one that feature a RAID 0 configuration. The name of this juggernaut is the OCZ Revo. It acts like a drive but looks like a card since it plugs directly into the motherboard, bringing a whole new level of speed into the mix.

OCZ is known for their SSD innovations, and the Revo looks to be another in a long line. It does have a couple drawbacks, however, as we know TRIM is not supported in RAID setups. And certainly top performance doesn’t come cheap either. However, the scintillating speed boost that the Revo offers may be enough to convert even the most penny pinching Scrooge.

Think a SandForce SSD is fast? Wait until you see what happens in a single card RAID 0 setup. Read on to find out.

Entering the memory market in August 2000, OCZ Technology was built around the determination to manufacture the best high speed DDR and RDRAM. OCZ was founded by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, and our commitment to the end-user has not digressed. OCZ Technology has been an innovator in many areas. At OCZ we have one primary goal, and it is to make sure that every customer is 110% satisfied. Every employee at OCZ is dedicated to accomplishing this goal. We offer a Lifetime warranty on every memory module we sell. We back this warranty with friendly, courteous staff that is willing to answer any question. At OCZ, if a staff member cannot answer your question, they will be forthright and put you in touch with a technician or engineer who can properly assist you.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this. In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera.

    Excellent Blog!
