We recently took a look at a set of OCZ XTE Platinum DDR3-2000 modules and came away suitably impressed. They weren’t a flagship set of sticks, but did well for the price. Today we are, in fact, looking at a flagship set of sticks from OCZ, some Gold XTE DDR3-2133 that are also reasonably priced for the speed rating. The timings loosen up just a bit here though as a result, so while we don’t think these will be absolute barn stormers, they should do the trick for just about anyone looking to push their Sandy Bridge platform.

OCZ is typically known for producing rock solid memory kits at very attractive prices. And while we can understand the rationale behind OCZ’s decision to leave the memory market in the near future, we’ll be sorry to see them go. However, they really aren’t going anywhere, but rather will focus on development of memory products of a different kind: solid state drives. So there’s a good chance these OCZ Gold XTE 4GB DDR3-2133 modules might be one of the last of their kind in a long line of successful sticks from OCZ.

So, how do these modules perform? Let’s take a closer look and find out.
