Airflow: this is one of the first things we consider when buying a new case. Yes, we want it to look good, and be able to show off all of our hardware, but what good is a case that is not able to meet the basic demand of keeping our components cool? Todays computer components are getting hotter and hotter, just take a look at some of Intel’s newer processors or the latest enthusiast offerings from ATI and NVIDIA. With all of this heat output, keeping critical system temperatures down is of the utmost concern for today’s do-it-yourself PC building market. And, like most other consumers, we want our cake and the ability to eat it too. We want our case to be affordable (while keeping it cool), because not everyone is able to afford to liquid cool all of the heat generating components in their case.
Enter the NZXT Tempest, which they have dubbed the “Airflow King”. Considering the great number of cases on the market right now that are able to boast some incredible cooling performance, it seems that NZXT has a lot to live up to in order to claim the crown. Is the Tempest truly the “Airflow King” they say it is, or is it just another case trying take the crown and falling short? We hope to be able to answer this for you today.
