Summary

NZXT has been producing some very high quality gear for some time. When it comes to something like this LED Kit it you either like it or you don’t, it’s that simple. It all boils down to personal preference, when it comes to how flashy we like our systems. Do you like the bling? Do you want to showcase your gear and have everyone fawning over it?

NZXT has done a very good job, the sleeving is absolutely fantastic from tip to tail. With the available options of the LEDs brightness settings it gives you the versatility to decide how garish you want things to look. The power button was also a nice touch so you can decide when you have had enough.

That’s not to say that there are no issues that could be addressed with this kit. I have two points here that could be improved. First, the Molex power cable should be at least 18” long so it can be hidden away with greater ease; the 4” cable just lets it hang out in the open. However, with a very quick and simple mod and only five minutes of your time this is easily fixed, though this really should come pre-done.

Second, depending on how many strings you would like to use in your build, the control board should have the option to run extra lines, otherwise your PCI slots will fill up rather fast (which are often at a premium these days with motherboard manufacturers starting to abandon PCI slots).  Or at the very least, there should be a connector at the end of the string so it can be added to at a later date.

Only costing $10 USD for the 1m version and $15 USD for the 2m length, this seems like a very reasonable price for such a simple mod that can be done in a few minutes and give some extra flare to your rig. All in all, this is a very decent kit for what you get in return, if you like the added effects that LEDs will bring to your build. But in the end it is up to you to decide if this is for you or not, personally I like the effect I got from it so it’s staying in my system.
