As always there is new tech on the horizon in the PC industry, and there has always been the ongoing issue of silence versus performance. Intel recently released the new Sandy Bridge processors that not only bring speed to the table, but cooler and more efficient operation that don’t require expensive cooling solutions. And while this is a big step in the right direction, there will continue to be that balancing act between low noise and great cooling performance, though it may now be a bit easier to control.

Using a fan controller is a very easy way to maximize your system’s performance, as well having the option of adjusting things to suit your preferences where noise is concerned. NZXT is just one company that offers a wide product lineup that also includes fan controllers.

Today we will be looking at one of NZXT’s fan controllers, the Sentry LXE. The LXE is unique because it isn’t mounted in your chassis like most other fan controllers. The LXE sits on your desktop for ease of access as well as displaying a considerable amount of information. That’s definitely different from what we normally see, so let’s jump in and see what the LXE can offer us in terms of functionality and ease of control.

NZXT was established in 2004 with the objective of designing unique products catered for hardware enthusiasts and gamers. NZXT has won numerous awards from media and publications from across the globe with a product line spanning from gaming chassis, power, and gaming input devices. Formed by gamers, NZXT continues to expand into new horizons and push the envelope further with each product unveiling.
