NZXT Respire T40 CPU Cooler
WHAT WE LIKED:Great performance for the price, super easy installation, support for push/pull.
WHAT WE DISLIKED:Fan is loud on full blast, a bit on the large side for some motherboards and could interfere with RAM and/or Video Card installation

The NZXT Respire T40 is one heck of a bargain cooler. For $36.98 shipped the performance is outstanding. At this price and these performance numbers, I’m at a loss as to how NZXT is even turning a profit (if they even are) on this cooler. The quality is top notch and the performance isn’t far behind at all.
As far as noise goes, at full 12V and not having PWM capabilities the 120mm fan is easily audible. The included speed reduction adapter helps to calm the noise and hardly hurts performance enough to even mention. I’d run this thing with the adapter 24/7 in my rig. The minor increase in temps is well worth the loss of noise that accompanies it.
Of course you also have the option of installing one or two 120mm fans of your choice as well. Throw on a cheap PWM-enabled fan and you’ve got yourself a quiet yet powerful little cooler at a price that can’t be beat.
NZXT hasn’t been in the CPU cooler market very long but their past and current offering show that they’re smashing into the market with the pedal firmly to the floor. I am excited to see what comes from the masterminds at NZXT next.
The NZXT Respire T40 easily gets our Editor’s Choice award for its insane price-to-performance ratio. If you’re looking for a budget cooler that will perform exceptionally well this is a hard cooler to beat.
