NZXT Performance Power 800W
Opening up the Performance Power 800W, the main feature that is immediately noticeable is the dark-coloured 120mm fan and the clear 80mm fan. NZXT claims these work in unison to provider better cooling at lower noise levels, but that’s not historically been the case with dual-fan power supply setups. We’ll see during testing. The fans are somewhat smooth textured, so they shouldn’t collect too much dust, but a few shots of some compressed air once in awhile would be a good idea here.
Removing the fan, we see a fairly straightforward layout, components are reasonably spaced but just a bit cramped, though there appears to be enough open space for airflow. The Performance Power 800W has two large Fuhjyyu 1500u uF 200V capacitors which have been known to have past issues in other branded unit, but that was primarily related to temperatures, so with the dual fan setup here this shouldn’t be an issue. Still, it is a bit disconcerting to see them, considering there are other choices available that will still keep costs down on the unit.
Let’s run some tests.
