Introduction

I guess we could say “What the hell is this Hades case all about”, but we wonder if that would be redundant.  We don’t think this new offering from NZXT is in anyway devilish but we do think is pretty “Hot Looking”.  Hot looks alone will not sell a case, but it could help.  Along with aesthetics, the chassis must still serve our needs and be within our budget.

So, what makes a case particularly suitable for a certain type of consumer?  Certainly there are the functional considerations: full, mid, or micro tower setup for starters. Will it be used as a home server? Perhaps house a workstation?  Will it be a Home Theater? What about Gaming? As we mentioned aesthetic considerations: color, lighting, metal and plastic, flashy or conservative? And then we can’t forget quality of construction, what about cooling those heat producing components.  And last, but by no means least, is the price. With so many variables it’s no wonder there are hundreds of different cases available on the market to suit just about every possibility.

At first look, the Hades looks quite striking with its all black interior/exterior, pushed outwards side panels, massive fans, and a very interesting shaped front door. The NZXT Hades PC case is aiming for enthusiasts and gamers.   For the most demanding of us who insist on excellent cooling, plenty of space for all of our high end components the Hades just might be the answer we are looking for.  This chassis looks to live up to such high expectations with its features and design, and a promise to not be too hard on the wallet.  You won’t have to trade your soul for the Hades either; a search of the web and you will find it selling for under $100 USD.
