Summary and Conclusion:

NZXT has unquestionably been at the top of my list lately, and their silent series of cases just continue to get better. Their H-440 silent enclosure was a big surprise with no 5.25 bays up front, which is a very bold move on the part of NZXT. But before I comment any further on what features the NZXT H-440 has to offer, let’s first talk about looks. The NZXT H-440 as a whole is simple and very easy on the eyes. It is quite a bit different than your typical gaudy and overly complex designs which so frequently show up in case designs these days. This is a refreshing approach which really makes it stand out. The design also helps with plentiful ventilation off the front top and bottom of the chassis.

Even, if its elegant, simplistic design and small foot print doesn’t spark your interest, I am confident that what’s on the inside of the NZXT H-440 just might. Although there are no 5.25 drives up front, the NZXT H-440 comes with a cavernous 3.5 bay area that offers not just great air flow from the three preinstalled 120mm high performance fans, but also gives you the ability to install the biggest 360mm radiator up front. You can even get a 240, 280, or 360mm rad up top as well. Also, the addition of the PSU cover and the two SSD mounts up top offer extra room for several SSD’s or even a 3.5 HDD on the deck below.

Whoever was on the design team at NZXT thought of everything: The ten grid fan hub, the LED lighting, PSU shroud with SSD mounts, and unprecedented water cooling features are just some of the highlights as this list just goes on and on. I have to admit I am a little old school, and as much as I love having an optical drive bay up front, I would give it up in a heartbeat to own this case. If the need for an optical drive should arise, you can just convert one to an external ODD drive on your desktop. If I had to nitpick about anything I would have liked to see a built in, on-board fan controller, and have the PSU cover modular so removal would give you easy access to whats underneath it. This would also make cable management even easier when routing, adding, or removing cables or drives installed to the floor underneath it.

Regardless, the bottom line is that the NZXT H-440 has hit it out of the park. This is by far the perfect case for nearly everyone! Whether you are a system guilder, gamer, or water cooling enthusiast, you just can’t go wrong. At just $119.99 The NZXT H-440 is not just a very affordable quiet mid-tower chassis, it also includes a solid build quality as well as features and attributes that nearly everyone is looking for. If you are in the market for a great Mid-Tower case, The NZXT H-440 should be at the top of your list. I highly recommend the NZXT H-440 for your next build, and it easily reaps the Pure Overclock Editor’s Choice Award!
