NZXT Avatar S Gaming Mouse
People rarely like change. We like our things in a certain way, and most prefer that comfort zone. It is often difficult to venture outside the box, and put that comfort at risk for the sake of something different. I suspect that a computer mouse is not much different; people like that comfort zone, literally and figuratively, and trying a new mouse is not something that most embrace with open arms.
So it would appear that NZXT has chosen to straddle a fine line between familiar and new, and has the Avatar S gaming mouse for those on a modest budget. Sporting a nearly identical ambidextrious design to the original Avatar, the S version comes with a few very minor tweaks, one of which is an optical sensor that brings down the cost to an attractive $40.
Can the Avatar S capture the essence of the original while carving its own special niche? Does the 1600 DPI optical sensor handicap performance? Let’s take a closer look and find out.
