Noctua NH-C12P 1366
Features & Package
According to Noctua, here are the major features of the NH-C12P:
"Sporting 6 heat pipes and the award-winning, psycho-acoustically optimized NF-P12 120mm fan, the NH-C12P achieves excellent performance and outstanding quietness. The down-facing c-type design doesn’t only allow for optimal motherboard and case compatibility, but also provides additional cooling for motherboard components through two Airflow-Gaps. Outfitted with the professional SecuFirm™ mounting system and Noctua’s much acclaimed NT-H1 thermal compound, the NH-C12P is a premium-class silent cooler through and through."
6 heat pipes
6 heat pipes, excellently soldered joints and widely-spaced cooling fins guarantee optimal heat dissipation even at low fan speeds.
C-Type Design with Airflow-Gaps
Due to the down-facing design and two large Airflow-Gaps, the NH-C12P provides additional cooling for near-socket motherboard components.
NF-P12 Premium Fan
The award-winning NF-P12 has been specifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers. Thanks to psychoacoustic optimizations and Noctua’s premium-grade SSO-bearing, the NF-P12 achieves exceptional quietness and long-term stability.
NT-H1 Thermal Compound
Noctua’s much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease-of-use and outstanding reliability.
The down-facing c-type design allows for low height as well as excellent motherboard and case compatibility.
SecuFirm? Multi-Socket Mounting System
Noctua’s professional SecuFirm? mounting system for LGA 775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 provides superior reliability and contact pressure. K8 (939, 940, 754) and 1366 kits are available on request.

The packaging of the NH-C12P cooler is your standard cardboard box. The colours of the box are brown and blue white lettering, certainly not the most complementary scheme on the colour wheel, but on the flipside it certainly creates brand recognition. There is a small, clear plastic window in the front which gives a glimpse of the cooler’s fan, and adequate information on the reverse is displayed to inform you of the product basics. When you open the box you will see that the cooler and fan are packed in very thick foam.
The accessories here are extensive, including Noctua’s NF-P12 fan that runs silent and has higher back pressure specifically designed for heatsink use. There is an an entire tube of their renowned thermal paste, as well as the necessary mounting brackets for various AMD and Intel sockets, fan clips, fan speed adapters, noise dampening strips, and installation manual.
The screwdriver we saw included with the U12P product isn’t here this time, likely since the C12P isn’t a tower-style cooler and won’t require the extra length when trying to install inside a case. The installation manual is top-notch, well-written and easy to understand (and gramatically correct!). It is also worth noting that the C12P package doesn’t include a 1366 backplate, but a free upgrade is available from Noctua. If you’re in a hurry though, the upgrade kit can be purchased online here for a few bucks.
