Introducing Chromax

Noctua has been gaining popularity in the cooling segment since their inception, and they’re hoping to increase their market share even further by adding these so-called mod kits to their inventory. What they have sent over to us to look at consists of a multitude of different colored cable extensions, splitters and heat sink covers. Yes, you read that correctly… heat sink covers. I kid you not, we have pretty much one of everything. This is going to be an overview like my previous Noctua coverage, so you can bet your sweet bottom dollar that I will be showing it off as much as possible.

Wherever you look on the wonderful world wide web, you will see a discussion regarding Noctua’s color scheme and the arguments/debates that break out about them. There’s a massive love/hate relationship that comes out when it comes to Noctua, but they are aiming to change that with what we are going to be showing off today. Curious, are we? Well, I can let you in on a little secret in case you missed it in the title… all the parts are members of the Chromax series from Noctua. I won’t babble on for too long, but I did feel that some form of intro was necessary… you know, formality ‘n all that.

I feel that the best way to show these things off is to group them, and to give you some closeups to show off the design and quality of the components in question. Okay, seriously… let’s open some boxes, right after this short message from Noctua…

Maximizing color choices, Noctua’s Chromax line gives users the option to color-customize their fans and CPU coolers in order to create PC builds with specific, focused aesthetics. It ranges from Chromax editions of the signature NF-A15, NF-A14, NF-F12 and NF-S12A fans over add-on heat sink covers for popular coolers such as the NH-D15(S) and NH-U12S to colored cables, anti-vibration pads and anti-vibration mounts. Enabling users to color-coordinate their cooling solutions with other components and popular build themes such as all black, black & white or black & red, Noctua’s Chromax line is the perfect choice for all those who value clean, neat looks just as much as class-leading quality and performance. Good review Brendan,

I won a bunch of original Noctua (3-120mm and 6-140mm) fans three years ago. They are reliable, they move a lot of air, and they were free. What more could someone want?

I really don’t care if they’re brown or not. There is beauty in functionality.
