The Nexus RX-6300 is a great power supply that features tasteful aesthetics, low noise levels, and solid performance in achieving 80PLUS Bronze status.  From a feature standpoint, the accessories included in this package aren’t anything unique, but there is a good assortment of sleeved modular cables and an easy-to-use modular connection that is colour-coded and labeled for novice system builders.  The cables lengths are acceptable, but may pose problems if you have a bottom-mounted full tower case and try to route the cables behind the motherboard tray and out of sight.

From a functional standpoint, the RX-6300 has a very quiet operation, as Nexus is known for their low-noise solutions for their entire product lineup and this unit is no different.  However, the low noise levels, coupled with smaller heatsinks, cause the unit to run at higher temperatures than we usually see, and we think this could be easily solved by adjusting the fan speeds for higher RPMs when operating a high loads. Certainly if you have good case airflow then you shouldn’t have any problems.

With a retail price of approximately $120 USD, the RX-6300 is near the middle of the pack in this power range, offering pretty good value for a modular unit. The strength of the Nexus RX-6300 may be its low noise operation and great voltage regulation. Beyond that, the price is reasonable, the modular design is well done, and the aesthetics are sleek. Overall, it’s a great all-around power supply in the mid-range power segment, and gets our recommendation.
