Introduction

ome people look for the best cooling performance, some want low noise levels, and some want a good balance of both. Often performance comes with a price, one of which is noise. They are usually opposites on the spectrum: the better the cooling performance, the louder a fan generally is. There are exceptions: loud and hot (who wants that?) and cool and quiet. We’re hunting for the latter, and that is often very difficult to find for our computer setups.

Nexus is no stranger to the cool and quiet realm, having made their impressive mark on many silent PC enthusiasts via their quality fans. Continuing in that tradition, Nexus is offering their latest product to the masses, the FLC-3000 CPU heatsink, coming in a 92mm fan size and promising good cooling with low noise levels.

Let’s take a look at the FLC-3000 and see if it accomplishes just that.

Thanks go to our friends at Nexus for supplying the review samples.

Nexus Technology BV was established in 2000 by a group of experts on heat conductivity and noise reduction in the computer industry. The founders have built up an in-depth knowledge and experience on heat conductivity issues and thermal characteristics by working closely with many of the larger PC manufacturers for several years. The idea to have a full line of high quality computer components to improve the working environment by reducing noise levels brought the founders together. Continuously developing products to reduce noise levels and consequently improve conductivity and airflow is our goal.
