Wrapping up this review will be pretty easy. I think MSI really delivers when it comes to being a gaming motherboard manufacturer. Sure, you might not win LN2 overclocking contests, but when you’re a gamer wanting features that won’t break the bank, the Gaming Pro Carbon balances each facet perfectly in my opinion. The board feels solid enough to handle newbie mistakes, the performance is great, and software like the Nahimic 2 audio is a great compliment to everything going on at the hardware level. Rather than put all the cost into enthusiasts features, they bring the performance level high enough to be great for gaming, while being able to buff up the rest of the gaming features. It’s a fantastic gaming board.
Both Newegg and Amazon have a listed price right at $155. While that could have something to do with the Ryzen release, it’s an impossible bargain to argue with. Other boards lack the VRMs and features to compete at this price point which is almost unbelievable. The simple fact is, I don’t think I can recommend a better board that will compliment a gaming Z270 system at a solid budget as well. So without further ado, we happily award the MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard the Pureoverclock Editor’s Choice Award!
