One of the great features of the MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition is the possibility of unlocking the BIOS and flashing it to a 6970. AMD generally put a stop to this on recent card releases, but we managed to get our hands on a "testing" BIOS to try to unlock this 6950. We’ll go into further detail a bit later in this review, but for now, this is what the 6950 Twin Frozr III looks like in terms of specifications:

There are two things to note here: the first is the impressive factory overclock of 850/1300MHz. The second point is there are 1408 streamprocessors (shaders), typical for a Radeon 6950. Remember that number, 1408. That’s the number we’ll want to change later when we try to flash this card.
