Summary

Below is a summary of each controller:

FC-4

The FC-4 is a good entry level controller. It’s nice looking, and will adequately handle up to four fans with no problems, but I would not recommend it for some of the larger high speed fans that require a heavy voltage load to perform, but it is sufficient enough for smaller fans that don’t require much voltage at start up. The blue LED’s behind the knobs get extremely bright as you turn up the speed and could become annoying to some and the only way to circumvent this is to throttle down your fan speeds. The build quality is good and at an MSRP of $30, it’s a good buy.

FC5-V2

The aesthetics here are great, from CNC-milled faceplate and knobs, along with the excellent build quality throughout, to the ability to change colors to match your case color scheme. And the many choices to display speed, voltage, and temperature using the Manual and Auto options make your setup a breeze and easy to accomplish. The very long cables are a big plus and will ensure excellent cable management. The functionality and display in my opnion just put this controller near the top of the pack. This unit is gorgeous and would complement any case or build you put it in. If I had to nitpick, it would be that I could not find any tape in the package to secure the temperature probes and would have liked to see the fan cables sleeved and numbered, but at an MSRP of $60 in my opinion is still a great buy.

Touch

What we have here again is our CNC-milled faceplate and exceptional build quality throughout, with a functional touch screen and easy to read display. There is a robust set of options, with auto and manual control over six fans. From the clean and streamlined interface to the touch sensitive functionality to control all aspects of the fan speed, voltage and temps puts this controller in a class of its own. The simple to use interface along with the user manual makes setup a breeze, giving complete control of all the fans and temperatures throughout your case. The display is clear and bright easy to read and not overbearing. I love the principle of set it and forget it. With a price of about $70, it is expensive but if you want something very unique then the Lamptron Touch might be right up your alley.
