With the increasing need for data storage, we’ve seen a rise in the importance of external storage in particular. But that need has traditionally been hampered by slow transfer speeds of USB 2.0. Then along came eSATA, boosting speeds to respectable performance, but hard drives were then the bottleneck in quick transfers.
