Features & Package

From In Win: "A dark, metallic black coat of paint blankets the beast that is the Maelstrom. Able to support ten front, side, and top 12cm fans, this chassis executes an air flow system that users seldom see and gamers often need. Offering superior acoustic and vibration-free performance, the Maelstrom operates silently without interruption. A patented shock-free railing system is provided to offer users ease of maintenance and installation. Need to expand? The Maelstrom supports four CPU M/B (from Micro-ATX to Extended-ATX) and 5×5.25" & 6×3.5" drive bays, providing all the space you’ll need to take you anywhere you want to go."

Superb Expandability
Able to support five 5.25? & six 3.5? drive bays, the Maelstrom has a four CPU M/B compatibility ranging from Micro-ATX to Extended-ATX.

User Friendly Ergonomic and Mechanical Design
Designed to provide quick maintenance and upgrade solutions, the patented shock-free railing system protects each drive bay. The retaining holes on the M/B tray offer easy CPU cooler replacement.

Superior Acoustic and Vibration Solutions
The Maelstrom offers a quiet environment and silent operation for gamers via acoustic absorbers laid inside the chassis. The tough casing structure efficiently reduces the acoustic noise levels and vibrations.

Revolutionary High Efficiency Thermal Solution
Ten front, side, and top 12cm fans enhance airflow while a meshed front and top panel provide superior ventilation. The Maelstrom offers an unparalleled thermal solution for any gaming system.

Luxurious Exterior and Interior Painting
Fully draped in a dark metallic black, the Maelstrom offers a luxurious look with its intimidating size. The black coating on the exterior and interior of the chassis prevent damage from humidity, oxidation, and extend the lifespan of the Maelstrom.

The In-Win Maelstrom is packaged in a large, glossy black and dark green tinted box with two different high resolution pictures of the Maelstrom on the front and back. Both carry In-Win’s red logo top right with www.inwin-style.com just below in white letters. Below that we have MAELSTROM with a crosshair in the O emblazoned in green which is part of the theme of this chassis, and Ready to sweep across the world, just below MAELSTROM. Beneath the picture on the backside of the box we have a horizontal string of twelve logos indicating some of the key features of the Maelstrom. They are Water Cooling Ready, Vibration Free, Shock Free Railing System, Acoustic Absorber, Full Tower, 22cm LED Fan, 12cm Silent Fan, Front eSATA, IEEE-1394, Front USB 2.0 x 4, and ROHS.

The In-Win Maelstrom comes with a very good color fold-out manual. It can come in handy because sometimes In-Win chassis have unique features that require a little explaining.

Upon opening the box we found the Maelstrom is well packaged in the typical computer chassis fashion with protective compilation blocks top and bottom over plastic sheathing. Unlike fragile Styrofoam blocks, these are precision fitted to the Maelstrom and can handle abuse and repackaging. The critical areas have mildly adhesive plastic applied for extra protection. The Maelstrom is well packaged and should easily survive shipment in new condition.

Let’s take a closer look at the exterior now.
