HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo X
As AMD’s 7000 series lineup has shaped up further in the marketplace, we’ve taken a good look at the flagship 7900 and budget 7700 cards, and have come away rather impressed for the most part. And while each of these occupy the opposite ends of the gaming (and budget) spectrum, for the vast majority of consumers there’s a need for something in the middle. And it’s that need that brings us AMD’s mid-range tier: the 7800 models.
Pitcairn is the codename for this class of AMD’s graphics card lineup, and it brings the Radeon 7850 and 7870. Today we’re interested in the former, and specifically we’re examining the HIS 7850 IceQ X Turbo X. It comes with core speeds of a GHz, and also sports a customized air cooler to tame the temperatures that often come with higher speeds.
We’ve seen some great value from HIS recently, so let’s see if the 7850 IceQ X Turbo X can continue that trend.
