Gigabyte is a board partner that’s known for pushing the boundaries on Nvidia’s reference graphics cards, whether it’s a custom heatsink, improved quality components, or a factory overclock. And true to form, the GTX 460 Super Overclock includes all of these with an excellent heatsink, improved power design components, and comes with a massive factory overclock. This card is the fastest GTX 460 out of the box that we’ve tested, and we’ve seen many of them. Perhaps even more impressive is the cooling efficiency of the heatsink, keeping temperatures in check when under full load, despite the huge overclock. And the aesthetics are great as well, as this is certainly one of the better looking GTX 460 models out there.

So are there any downsides here? Well, it is possible to overclock a couple other 460 models as high as this one. The Gigabyte SOC doesn’t necessarily overclock higher than the competition; it just comes already pre-overclocked for you.

This Gigabyte card costs about $230 USD ($200 after rebate), which is on par with competitiors that are overclocked, except a few of those don’t come with a custom heatsink or clocks as high as the SOC card. Needless to say, that’s an excellent value as well.

Massive factory overclock, huge performance, cool temperatures, low noise, and great price. That is an outstanding combination of features, end of story. The Gigabyte GTX 460 Super Overclock 1GB is one of the very best overall GTX 460 models on the market.
