The long Bulldozer wait has finally come to an end. Enthusiasts look at the new FX series CPUs with mixed reviews and feelings. Some say it is lackluster but the numbers show it is equal in some areas, lacking in others and somewhat better in number crunching compared to Intel’s 2500K.
We’re now seeing some price drops on the FX chips as well, so AMD fanboys may be looking for better value. There is, however, a strong contingent looking at the Phenom II hexa-core chips, and the 990FX chipset is a great contender to harness that horsepower as well, regardless of the Bulldozer launch.
As usual, Gigabyte had several 990FXA motherboards ready prior to the Bulldozer launch and today we have our paws on the 990FXA-UD7, the flagship board in this lineup. Let’s dive in and take a look at this premium motherboard.
