Summary

If you’re looking for suicide runs and highest possible clocks for some short air benching runs, you’ll want to look to a different cooler. Costing $40 USD, the GELID Tranquillo is a good deal though, as it provides good performance and low noise levels for the pricy. Other coolers in our lineup performed better but most of them ran far louder and cost much more as well. Also worthy of note here is the lengthy 5-year warranty, which is far better than we usually see.

As for the GX-Extreme thermal paste, it’s easy to work with and does a good job. There are some other thermal pastes on the market that work just as good if not better, but you really won’t notice the difference with modest speed increases and overclocks anyways. The tolerances are just too close, and a higher fan speed on the cooler will make much more of a difference.

Gamers and modest overclockers alike can enjoy this cooler. It isn’t suitable for aggressive overclocking but it is a good all-around cooler. By way of value, it’s a winner.
