The EVGA GeForce GTX 275 is a card that is very interesting in where it lies in the market: it packs quite a bit more punch than its little brother, the GTX 260, coming awfully close to Nvidia’s flagship card in terms of performance. But at a price tag of $250 USD, it is considerably cheaper than the top offerings. Quite simply, this card offers very considerable horsepower for the price, and gamers will be smiling after purchasing one of these, no doubt giving great framerates for your hard-earned dollar.

As we saw during testing, the GTX 275 can handle just about every modern game out there, even to 1920 resolution, though a few games will choke at that level with antiasliasing cranked up. Yet the card does run cool at idle, but does run rather hot when juiced up. However, the fan isn’t terribly loud, certainly not lke the hair driers on the ATI counterpart cards, so you can keep the fan running a bit faster and the temperatures lower if you like.

The GTX 275 is essentially positioned to take on the Radeon 4890, and we’ll be looking at that in an upcoming review very soon, so it will be interesting to see how things shake out. Regardless, on its own merits, the EVGA GTX 275 offers excellent performance for the price, and you cannot go wrong with picking up one of these (or in our case, two of them). It is a great option for gamers who are looking for a solid product at an attractive price.
