Introduction

Today we are reviewing a rebirth of the Evercool Transformer 4 CPU cooler. The new revision is called the Transformer 4 PLUS. Back in mid 2009, we tested the original version and found it provided good performance at an affordable price point. The design is exactly the same with the addition of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) function to the fans. The main purpose of PWM is to automatically control the fan speed and hopefully, it will provide even better performance.

The Transformer 4 Plus is a large but sleek, chrome-themed heatsink, with fans that have the same silver color. Let’s see how it handles a Core i7 powerhouse.
