The Evercool HPK-10025EA is a very good looking cooler that showcases a rather stylish aesthetic, and with a sharp black and red colour scheme it would look good in any gamer case. While we certainly do appreciate good design, we also happen to think that performance is where it counts; and this Evercool cooler does indeed get the job done. In our testing we found that it’s not quite as efficient as the top HDT smallform coolers, but keep in mind that it’s not designed for overclocking either, so that does account for the discrepancy in results. We do understand it is a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, and we mention it to try to provide a fair analysis and conclusion. That being said, the HPK-10025EA does a good job at stock speeds in keeping a Core i7 chip in check.
While the full-size CPU coolers generate most of the buzz in cooling circles, the smaller siblings can often be far more compelling for your hard-earned money, offering surprisingly strong performance at a considerably lower price, in what is probably the most overlooked product segment. Available at online retailers for only $25 USD, the Evercool HPK-10025EA offers great value for your money, particularly in a smallform factor and with low noise levels as well. Add the fact that it just looks great, and we’re left with a little gem on our hands.
Remember there is one caveat here though: this cooler is not designed for high performance, so don’t expect to overclock your Core i7 with this little baby. It is for small cases, low noise, and an affordable price tag. If you are in that position and need something better-looking and far better-performing than the stock Intel cooler, then consider the Evercool HPK-10025EA, we think it’s worth a good look.
Our thanks go to Evercool for providing the HPK-10025EA for this review.
