Summary

The Evercool Buffalo HPFI7-10025 is a very good looking cooler that showcases a rather stylish aesthetic, and with a sharp black and red colour scheme it would look good in any gamer case. While we certainly do appreciate good design, we also happne to think that performance is where it counts; and this Evercool cooler does indeed get the job done very admirably. In our testing we found that it’s not quite as efficient as the top HDT smallform coolers, but it does a a fine job at stock and a rather good job at keeping a highly overclocked Core i7 chip in check.

While the full-size CPU coolers generate most of the buzz in cooling circles, the smaller siblings can often be far more compelling for your hard-earned money, offering surprisingly strong performance at a considerably lower price, in what is probably the most overlooked product segment. Available at online retailers for only $17 USD, the Evercool Buffalo is the least expensive Socket 1366 performance cooler on the market, yet can compete equally with coolers that are more than double the price. Add the fact that it just looks great, and we’re left with a winner on our hands. You simply will not find a better deal than this.

Frankly, the Evercool Buffalo may be one of the best-kept secrets around in terms of price-to-performance, especially when installed on a Core i7 monster. Perhaps that will change as more people become aware of the capabilities of this little beauty.
