Introduction

Enermax has been producing some of the best products in the computer industry for some time. However they are probably most well known for their top notch power supplies. Enermax has never ceased to impress us with their build quality and attention to detail in any of their products.

Back in February we had the opportunity to look at the MODU 87+ 500W 80+ Gold certified PSU which yielded some very good results. Today we will be taking a close look at the MODU 87+ 900W 80+ Gold certified power supply. The MODU 87+ 900W sports the same sleek aesthetics as all its counterparts in the series, but it is the largest in terms of raw power.

The major difference between the 500W and the 900W that we are looking at today other than total wattage, is the 900W unit has a fourth 12v rail, all of which are rated at 30A rather than the three at 25A found on the 500W.

Like the rest of the series, the MODU 87+ 900W is also modular, so let’s get in to the review and see how this unit holds up under testing.

"EnermaxTechnology Corporation was founded in 1990 by a group of young professional, enthusiastic, and high-tech oriented people in Taiwan. The main products we carry are switching power supplies, PC cases, industrial PC cases, pedestal and tower server cases, CPU coolers, second fans, mobile racks and other peripherals. Enermax has its own design groups and production line. Enermax’s Design engineers work around the clock to come up with the best solution and product to meet the demand of the market."
