From a functional standpoint, the Galaxy EVO has excellent voltage regulation and efficiency, requiring an insanely hungry computer setup to tax this monster unit. With six rails and 104 Amps available here, you need an extremely hardcore system push the Galaxy EVO 1250W and make it grunt.

The Galaxy EVO 1250W is also very user-friendly for daily 24/7 operation, running very quietly both at idle and load, with the fan managing to keep noise levels impressively low. A wide assortment of sleeved modular cables that support the latest multiple SLI/CrossFire setups, an easy-to-use colour-coded connection design, a scratch-resistant finish, and a strong and edgy aesthetic further add to the superlatives here.  The cable lengths are adequately long and should suit most full tower cases unless you’re an absolute cable management fanatic and want to route everything behind the motherboard tray.

Built like a tank with excellent quality components doesn’t come cheap, with the Galaxy EVO 1250W retailing in the upper echelon of the pricing range for this power segment at approximately $320 USD. We did find it available at a major online vendor for $275 after rebate, making it one of the best deals on a high-end kilowatt+ unit on the market. While the EVO is one of the most expensive 1200-1250W units on the market, it is also one of the very best. You certainly get what you pay for here. At this price level, you ought to look at this as an investment, since the extra $50 or so will be a wise move if you’ve spent $1500 or more on a flagship CPU and graphics cards. When viewed in that context, the extra $50 for the EVO is a pittance. And make no mistake, a purchase like this is indeed an investment and it will last you a long time.

The Enermax Galaxy EVO 1250W is a behemoth of a power supply in just about every conceivable manner of criteria: it’s strong, durable, and attractive. It can handle anything you can throw at it and will provide rock solid stability and power for your precious system. The EVO doesn’t come cheap, but in return you get one of the very best power supplies on the market.
