Specifications & Package

From EKWB: "Special water block was designed for hard enthusiast users to get the most out of newest AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphic card. The graphic card has extreme overclocking potential, which can be only achieved with the best cooling. The crucial part are power reguator chips (VRC/mosfets), that are the source for extreme overclocking. Therefore EK developed full copper base to supply maximal cooling for all chips that needs to be cooled. Blocks design allows water to pass over voltage regulator chips as close as possible, thus supplying maximum cooling possible. Top is made of quality acrylic glass. The sealing is preformed by quality rubber washer (o-ring). Block is mounted with enclosed M3x8mm and M3×10 screws. Standoffs for safe mounting are enclosed."

Below are the features and specifications for the FC-5870:

  • Materials: Pure copper, nickel plating, clear acrylic
  • Dimemsions: 165 x 119.5 x 8mm
  • Weight: 770g
  • Threads: G1/4” BSP
  • Accessories included: 2 x port plugs, 2 x spacers with O-rings, thermal pads, plastic standoffs, mounting screws and installation guide

The EK FC-5870 comes in a high quality packaging as we have seen before with the EK-Supreme HF CPU block review.  The block is well wrapped, sealed and packed inside the box. The accessory package includes nine plastic standoffs, screws, two sets of thermal pads for memory, a pair of barb spacers, and a brief installation guide are also included.

Let’s take a closer look at the FC-5870 now.
