Specifications & Packaging

The “FC” in this block’s product name stands for “Full Cover”, indicating that this is a full cover waterblock. This means that the block covers all of the temperature sensitive components on the graphics card and provides optimal cooling. On the downside the block is specifically tailored for the HD 4870 and that card only. While you can re-use a GPU-only cooler on your next graphics card, this is not possible with a full cover block. However, nowadays there are several very temperature sensitive components apart from the GPU core itself. The full cover block is becoming the more sensible choice.

The block is shipped in a nicely designed, compact package. Below is the specifications of the block:

Technical data:

  • dimensions of copper base: 118.5 x 112 x 8mm
  • dimensions of acrylic top: 119.5 x 113.5 x 8mm
  • threads: 4 x G1/4
  • fittings size: optional
  • weight: 536g

The following is contained in the package:

Contents:

  • Copper block
  • Aluminium extension of the block
  • All the screws needed for assembly
  • Two end caps
  • Two spacers with O-Rings
