ECS A785GM-M
Summary
ECS has produced a great motherboard with the A785GM-M, certainly deserving of the Black Series moniker. While the 785G doesn’t bring too much more to the table than the previous 780G, it does offer improved integrated graphics and DX10.1, along with expanded CPU compatibility and DDR3 support, bringing things forward now.
The feature set included here is rather robust with the inclusion of the HDMI capability, and eSATA ports on the rear panel being a great bonus. The implementation of eJIFFY is a disappointment, however, as it’s required to be initially loaded onto the hard drive rather than simply flash-integrated, making things unnecessarily cumbersome.
That being said, the A785GM-M overclocks very well for a micro-board, and it’s also very user-friendly with an intuitive BIOS layout and convenient onboard buttons for easy access. More importantly perhaps is that you can pick up this motherboard for only $90 USD ($72 after rebate) which is an excellent deal for a feature-rich and stable board. In the end, the A785GM-M is a great all-round motherboard for your AMD setup that won’t break the bank.
With a wide selection of connectivity options, integrated DX10.1 ATI Hybrid Graphics Technology, support for AMD’s Phenom II processors, easy setup, and good performance, the ECS A785GM-M Black Series gets our solid recommendation.
