Eagle Tech Consus ET-CSMDSU2-BK
Summary
The ET-CSMDSU2-BK is a great idea for a drive enclosure, and is fairly well executed. A few problems with drive installation were present, yes, but overall, the unit is quite nice. The dual drive design is unique, and its appeal is apparent.
Hopefully it will ship with an updated CD, and will allow for the OTB software to be installed on Windows 7, but it must be added that the OTB software was very easy to use once it was installed. It’s a decent performer as far as the benchmarks went, but could have done even better with an eSATA connection. Overall, it’s a great unit for enthusiasts in the data backup department.
Available from Newegg for $50, it’s a good deal considering what you get; a suite of sweet software, dual drive capability, JBOD or Dual mode features, one-touch-backup and a fan to keep it all cool.
