Packaging, Features and Specifications

The packaging on this mouse is really nice. The outer box looks good on top of being made with nice thick cardboard. I also like how clear and concise the specifications are on the back.

One thing I’ve noticed with companies that seem like they’re in the starting phases is that they use the same type of foam casing for products. I’m not sure if it’s cheaper or not, but I really like this style of packaging over the more modern, thin plastic molds other mice have. The plastic may let you see the mouse while it’s on the shelf, but makes the product feel more like a toy than an actual piece of computer hardware.

Let’s try and highlight some features and specifications from this long list we have. A lot of this feels like a sales pitch and while much of the info is helpful, I would prefer to see this be a bit shorter and to the point. Things like acceleration, prediction and smoothing are factory set to the feedback that they received. While this may bring the movements closer to what a professional gamer would expect, it completely axes the customization other users might want. We mentioned this before but the DM1 Pro S adds the new Pixart 3360 optical sensor. This seems to be a pretty big hit with gamers so it’s nice to see here. Finally, we have 6 DPI settings. I feel like that’s a tad too many for on the fly DPI in shooters, but it is nice for finding a sweet spot speed without having to adjust other mouse options. Once again though, we’re stuck with those settings since there isn’t any software to customize the mouse further.

We worked very hard on the DM1 Pro mouse, and now we are very proud to release DM1 Pro S! Our users demanded an upgraded version of our amazingly popular DM1 Pro, and now you can order it. We took everything that was great in DM1 Pro and improved it based on user input. You will love this mouse!

Of course, our biggest change is the sensor. We know everyone has been anxiously awaiting a gaming mouse with the 3360 sensor, and now it is available from Dream Machines. The 3360 sensor is absolutely incredible. It not only increases the tracking speed up to 7 M/S, but increases the maximum DPI up to 12,000. We feel confident that everyone will be very impressed with the new and improved sensor.

This is not all. With the 3360, you can use it on many more and different types of surfaces than the 3310. The imaging algorithm is so exact that it functions even on a shiny surface. Plus, DM1 Pro S is fine tuned to mimic your movement perfectly even when lifting and putting down the mouse quickly and at an angle. Spazzing out is not an issue! That’s accurate control and precision you can count on.

That’s right – we worked very hard to lower the weight just slightly from DM1 Pro. We know our gamers want their mouse to be easy to pick up and put down. We completely redesigned the PCB with the newest technology and lightest components possible, so gamers will play better than ever before.

The size of the mouse is the same as the DM1 Pro at 126 mm x 39 mm x 68 mm. DM1 Pro S has the shape great for any hand grip from claw, palm, or fingertip. Our users agree that this shape is the best for most people. We have seen how many people love the shape, and now with the new lightweight you will love DM1 Pro S even more.

After our success with the DM1 Pro, we knew that it would be hard to beat. Sure the sensor is one thing, but there are many more customizations we did based on user feedback. Every product we release, especially DM1 Pro S, has had many long hours of research to make it the best mouse for gamers.

Our design team started working on this new mouse before DM1 Pro ever came out. This time is well spent and has paid off. We fine-tuned the PCB so there will be the least delay possible. In addition, we completely reorganized it to better optimize the transistors and circuits. As in the DM1 Pro, we put the S at 1000 Hz polling and kept the lift off distance of ~ 1.8-2.0 mm. DM1 Pro S is better equipped to give you the tools you need to crush the competition.

These details are just the same as in the DM1 Pro and DM2 Comfy. So our experienced users will know the settings we prefer; but for any noobs, we repeat ourselves again.

LOD – aka “Lift off distance”. We set it at about 1.8 mm as this is optimal for gamers. Anything higher and the mouse will track when you do not want it to. We wanted to make your movements on the mousepad fast and accurate, but nothing more.

ACCELERATION – We turned this off. Why? Acceleration is good for office drones whose only need for their mouse is to move from the middle of the screen to the edge quickly with a fast flick. Nice feature, indeed, but for gamers this creates inaccuracy. You do not know how far a swipe on the mousepad will move your crosshair in the action. Not what you want in a game, as it means the difference between life and death.

PREDICTION – Also off. Similar to acceleration, it is a nice feature for people who want to draw things in paint. It helps you make a straight line. But if you are a gamer, you want even the smallest movement from left to right to be felt and seen on the screen.

SMOOTHING – Close to off. This is another feature that helps “smooth” your movement to disguise any lag on the mouse sensor. Of course, the lag in our mouse is very low (almost non-existent) and because of that, we do not need heavy smoothing which can distract a gamer. Basically, you will not notice anything except the real movement that you are doing on the mousepad.

This mouse is amazingly fast. This mouse can track 7.0 M/s, which is faster than your fastest gamer. It is approximately double of DM1 Pro. Now anyone who thought they could move faster than the sensor has to go even faster. We dare you to try.

DPI TO THE MAX -400 / 800 / 1600 / 2400 / 4800 / 12000

Some people like to brag about the high DPI they have. Most of us know that this number isn’t what really matters, but we still like to have it. Now with DM1 Pro S, you have “bragging rights” and can also tell people that your mouse will go up to an incredible 12,000 DPI. Enjoy!

We kept the DM1 Pro matte rubber cover as is because people love it. They say it has a great grip and feels super comfortable in their hand. At the same time, there is a group of people that wanted something glossy. They wanted the mouse to be a little bit shiny to show off to their friends. Maybe it’s because the glossy mouse doesn’t show as many fingerprints and cleans off easily. Maybe there is some other reason. Either way, we are happy to offer both options now for our users.

You can choose DM1 Pro S in matte black or glossy finish. We love them both and if you have the cash, you might want to pick up one of each.

The large Teflon mouse feet are still there to keep you in total control. We know that after heavy use, the feet can become worn, and that is why we have included an extra set of mouse feet in each and every box. Sometimes an extra pair of feet can come in handy because we know things happen. Or maybe some people just like to open up our mouse and check out the internal components. (We cannot recommend this, and we cannot cover user damage under warranty).

Dream Machines would like to discuss the cable. We heard how some people prefer non-braided. But we tested both, and the braided cable will last longer. We decided to keep with the softest braid possible. It is the perfect compromise to provide easy movement, but still gets the long life and quality that braided cables provide. Also, the USB connector is gold plated for optimum connectivity, and the cable length is set at 1.8 meters.

That’s right – we heard you guys. People said the scroll was too stiff. We changed the middle button to be a 20 million click Omron- just like the left and right button. This should satisfy even the most demanding clicker.

Don’t worry – everyone was so proud of the LMB and RMB, so we left those with the great 20 million Omron too. We heard that some people said the LMB and RMB had a different click, but they honestly are the same and have the same switch ☺. Enjoy.

DM1 Pro S is the 2016 Dream Machines VIP mouse! We loved DM1 Pro, and now we made it even better. We hope everyone else loves it as much as we do. We can say that we really appreciated all the comments and feedback on DM1 Pro. Thanks to everyone who helped us design the ultimate DM1 Pro S. So please feel free to take a bow.
