Conclusion
Deep Cool’s Gammaxx S40 CPU cooler is one amazing little performer! It works exceptionally well for its size, and it’s the quietest cooler I’ve tested to date.
Clearances with the Gammaxx S40 were also great. The first RAM slot is usable, albeit just barely. This of course depends on what RAM you’re using in your system. The clearance with the first expansion slot is the largest of any cooler I’ve tested thus far.
Mounting the Gammaxx S40 was a cake walk due to the inclusion of the OEM Intel mounting system… no messing with backplates, screws, spacers and/or standoffs here.
Overall, Deep Cool has a real winner with the Gammaxx S40 CPU cooler. At the time of writing; however, we were unable to find any retailers that currently sell this particular cooler. NewEgg, Tiger Direct and others sell other Deep Cool CPU coolers but none had this specific model. We contacted Deep Cool for the MSRP and they said it will be at the $30 price point which makes this cooler a definite contender for a budget system build (or just adds great value to a mid-range gamers build). It also has a two-year warranty, which is a nice bonus.
It works great, it’s small, and best of all it’s very quiet. Because of its excellent price to performance ratio and low noise levels, we are proud to give the Gammaxx S40 our Editor’s Choice award.
