Summary

Who says good things don’t come in small packages?

As we’ve seen today both Ballistix Tactical LP and Sport VLP perform remarkably well. Both are packed with high density modules and overlock very well. The Ballistix Sport VLP is an entry level memory but its performance isn’t far off away from the Tactical LP at all. It really gives the Tactical LP a run for its money. However, the Ballistix Tactical LP is a more solid performer, has better power efficiency and runs cooler.

In terms of value, you can pick up the 16GB Tactical LP kit for $99.99, and the Sport VLP for $77.99, from NewEgg. If you are in the market for a new set of good performance memory and want true low profile modules for your mini HTPC, we would recommend the Ballistix Sport VLP. If you can spare another $20, you can’t go wrong with the Ballistix Tactical LP, which had solid performance at low voltage. Both of these modules earn our Editor’s Choice Award in their respective category.
