Cougar is known for making exotic looking cases, performance chassis fans and the color “orange”. They’ve also been working on expanding to other product sectors over the last few years; We even saw them release a line of power supplies that was generally well received. Hoping to expand on that success, we are now witnessing Cougar reach into the very competitive “gaming peripherals” market. As eSports continues to pick up momentum and followers, hardcore gaming itself is rising from parent’s basements to being broadcast to millions across the globe. As a result, each day new gamers are born into this growing market, and Cougar is looking to “pounce” on this potential revenue stream (Editor’s Note: I see what you did there… -Mike). Cougar sent us the 700M Gaming Mouse and the Cougar Mouse Pad Speed, their latest enthusiast gaming products, to take a look at. We’re going to see if Cougar has what it takes to survive in this tough market, or if they could end up on the “endangered products” list. First, a few words about Cougar:

Great review, but I still have to wonder if the pad is really that important. Do the advantages outweigh the use of “standard” pads?
Will it make or break your entire gaming career? No. Not at all. Is it nice to have a mouse pad that makes movements a little easier for a few bucks more than a decent mouse pad from OfficeMAx? I say yes it is. Does it need to be this large? No way. This thing is huge!! Id stick with the medium.
