Interior
Again, to save excessive repetition for this review, we’ll be examining the 1000W model, since the internals are virtual identical in appearance to the 850W model. Opening up the V Series 1000W, the main feature that is immediately noticeable is the Protechnic MGA13512XF-O25, a fluid dynamic bearing 135mm fan which features longer lifespan and reduced noise levels. It should be quieter than a typical ball or sleeve bearing fan as well.

Removing the fan we see a fairly straightforward layout in a Seasonic OEM unit with the newer KM3 platform. Pardon the pun, but we’re big fans of Seasonic power supplies, and hopefully these prove similar in terms of performance. The interior layout isn’t cramped, the heatsinks are a bit on the small side but nothing worrisome as they shouldn’t restrict airflow through the unit.

Here’s first part of the transient filtering stage adjacent to the AC receptacle, with a small sealed PCB for EMI reduction.

The front panel connectors, the red PCB looks excellent (though you won’t see it, admittedly).

The primary capacitors are a pair of Nippon Chemi-Con, rated for 420V/390uf, and 105°C.

The components are placed very well and there were no sloppy spots to speak of; the quality of construction here is excellent in fact. It should come as no surprise since we typically see Seasonic producing some of the best units on the market.

Let’s run some tests.
